On opening the box you will see that the components are of very high quality. This is something I have come to expect from A Fantasy Flight Game - and Elder Sign certainly delivers.
Elder Sign is a great game that is easy to play. However, I would be the first to admit that it looks very confusing and complicated. I'd recommend checking out some gameplay run-throughs on the web to get into it.
It is a game for 1-8 players but I think 3/4 is probably best. I've played it solo many times and it works well as a one player game.
The game is essentially all about dice rolling. This may put some 'serious' gamers off - as it relies heavily on luck. That being said the player does have multiple choices of move per game turn, so you do have some control over your destiny.
Elder Sign is heavily themed on HP Lovecraft's Chuthulhu Mythos and that is likely to turn away as many players as it attracts. All in all a sold and fun game.
