From the final years of the steam locomotive-hauled rail services of the 1960s, through the pioneering enthusiast's specials and mainline steam excursions of the 1970s and 1980s, Kenneth Oldham MBE chronicled a time of great transition for the railways of Britain including the fledgling days of the railway line preservation movement. Kenneth travelled around Britain to film on 16mm Colour stock some of the most dramatic working steam locations, among them Hellifield, Seahouses, Tyseley and Rainhill as well as Ribblehead, Ais Gill and Dent Head Viaduct on the then threatened Settle and Carlisle line.
