NTSC

NTSC (National Television System Committee) is the standard for games commonly used in the United States and Canada. NTSC games for sale on our website will work with any PAL (UK, European and Australasian) console; however you may be required to create anXbox Live/PSN (PlayStation Network) account in the USA to activate any future/includedDLC (Downloadable Content).

PAL

PAL (Phase Alternating Line) is the standard for games commonly used in UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. All gaming systems sold in PAL countries will play all PAL, NTSC &NTSC-J discs we offer for sale.Please note: an HDMI cable is required to playNTSC games on a PlayStation 3 Console.

NTSC-J

NTSC-J means that it is the Japanese release of the game. It is commonly used in Japan, Hong Kong & Singapore. NTSC-J games will usually have Japanese wording on the box art and will usually work on any NTSC device. Any NTSC-J games for sale on our website will work with anyPAL (UK, European and Australasian) console; however you may be required to create anXbox Live/PSN (PlayStation Network) account in the Asia to activate any future/includedDLC (Downloadable Content).

DLC

DLC (Downloadable Content) is additional content which is created for a released video game. DLC can be anything from extra levels or characters to updated team rosters or in-game features. DLC will require an internet connection and an account with the source of the product (usually PSN,Xbox Live,Nintendo eShop,Steam/uPlay/Origin.

Steam

Steam is an internet-based digital distribution, digital rights management (DRM), multiplayer, and social networking platform developed by Valve Corporation. Steam provides installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, as well as various community features.

Origin

Origin is an internet-based online gaming, digital distribution and digital rights management (DRM) platform developed by Electronic Arts that allows users to download games with the Origin client.

UPlay

uPlay is a cross-platform service available in more than 50 games. This service was created by Ubisoft to provide an experience similar to the achievements/trophies offered by various other game companies. The service is provided across various platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & Wii U.

GOG.Com

GOG.com is a digital distribution platform serving computer games and movies.

PSN

PlayStation Network, officially abbreviated PSN, is an entertainment service provided by Sony Computer Entertainment for use with the PlayStation family of video game consoles, Sony tablet and smartphones. The PlayStation Network encompasses online gaming, music, television and movie streaming services.

Much like BBFC ratings for films, a PEGI 18 rating means that the game is unsuitable for people under the age of 18.

BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) is a non-governmental organization responsible for the national classification and censorship of films within the United Kingdom.

Different countries around the world have different DVD regions. The region of our DVDs is listed on each product page. The different regions around the world are:

  • Region 0 - Region-free, will play on any DVD player
  • Region 1 - USA and Canada
  • Region 2 - Europe, Japan, Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland
  • Region 3 - Taiwan, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong
  • Region 4 - Mexico, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean
  • Region 5 - Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Africa (excluding South Africa), North Korea, Mongolia
  • Region 6 - China

In order to play a DVD from another region, you will either need to either have a region-free DVD player or set your machine to a different region - this is usually easy to do by doing an internet search for your model number and the words "change region".
