Nintendo Land Game Wii U Product Description

Please note WiiU titles are not compatible with the standard Nintendo Wii

Wii U is getting its own Wii Sports-style title in the form of NintendoLand.

Reggie Fils-Aime announced the title during the platform holder's E3 press conference, claiming that NintendoLand will have the same effect as the Wii's launch title - it will make the new controller easier to understand for newcomers.

The game is set in a Nintendo theme park, where players control their Miis and engage in mini-games based on one of 12 rides.

Confirmed rides included

  • Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest
  • Animal Crossing: Sweet Days
  • Luigi's Ghost Mansion
  • Donkey Kong Crash Course
  • Takamaru's Ninja Castle

Luigi's Ghost Mansion, for example, is a Pac-Man style maze in which the GamePad user can control the ghosts while players using Wii Remotes control their Miis.

The rides will all feature multiplayer support and some will be compatible with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

The project is being overseen by Katsuya Eguchi, who has worked on Animal Crossing, Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort.

When I decided it was time to buy a Wii U, Nintendo Land was almost at the top of my list, although its designed to be a tech demo, its multi player games are some of the most fun I have had in a while. For fans of Zelda, you will love the finely crafted felt world, the game pad gives you a bow and arrow, while up to 3 players with wii remote plus have swords, the timing and direction of when you strike, not much puzzle here but a great fun game. Most of the other multi player games see the game pad as a secret screen, Luigi's mansion for example, has you as an invisible ghost, and your friends on the TV are trying to track you down, when you get near them, their controller rumbles, making them on edge as they frantically try to find you before they get caught. Of course, this is designed to be an extra, but at the current price of $28 this is a must have!

Nintendo land is a really good starter game for the Wii U. Although if you diddnt get the premium pack with the game included then i dont think its worth buying. It does for the Wii U what Wii sports did for the Wii, It introduces you to the new controller and teaches you all the things it can do. Great game for a family but not worth the $50-60 that you would pay for it otherwise.
