Drama directed by Knate Lee and starring Thomas Haden Church and Terrence Howard. Homeless and alone, Willie (Haden Church) is trapped in a life of poverty and misery and surrounded by others whose similarly sad circumstances have hardened their attitudes. Willie finds himself a friend of sorts when he discovers the tattered diary of a young girl, though he has trouble reading the cursive writing. When his neighbourhood becomes a target for well-off youths with no regard for the suffering of the people forced to live there, they offer wads of cash to any vagrants willing to fight against each other, in particular the gentle giant Willie.
