I'll review this through the tastes of a gamer born in the mid nineties who has spent most of her gaming life hearing nothing but the highest praise for Chrono Trigger: this game didn't really have much for me. I get the feeling all the later games I love owe an awful lot to this one, but I kinda got bored of it. It's a solid game, and the music is good, but it's been twenty years and I'm used to games that built upon Chrono Trigger.
I mean, if you're specifically looking for an old school, classic RPG with a thought through story and multiple endings (though I stopped after one), I'd say go ahead and try this! It's definitely not a bad game.
I didn't notice anything glitchy, the controls were all fine.
